Start Date: March 5th start. 4 consecutive weeks. 7:30 - 8:30.
The Core Fundamentals
The Salsa Step: You’ll learn the "linear" basic step (breaking forward and back). The rhythm follows a "quick-quick-slow" pattern: you step on beats 1, 2, and 3, then pause or "hold" on beat 4.
The Cross-Body Lead: This is the "DNA" of Salsa. It’s the move where the leader guides the follower to the opposite side of them. You'll spend a lot of time perfecting this, as almost all advanced moves build on it.
Tension and Frame: You’ll learn how to keep a "firm" arm connection (the frame) so that the leader’s movements are clearly felt by the follower.
👟 Preparation & Atmosphere
Footwear Matters: Salsa involves more spinning than Bachata. Avoid rubber-soled sneakers (like running shoes) because they can "stick" to the floor and cause knee strain during turns. Smooth-soled shoes or socks are better for your first class.
Partner Rotation: You will rotate partners frequently unless you prefer to stay with your partner, all good we will figure it out.
It’s a great way to meet people and shake off the stress of a long day of classes.
Remember to bring water.
